Clean Energy Symposium Hosted at Hudson Valley Community College

Hudson Valley Community College hosted a Clean Energy Symposium in partnership with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) – Capital RegionAmerican Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) – Northeast Chapter at the HVCC北 campus in Malta, NY on Wednesday, March 27. More than 200 individuals, including students, attended the event.

This day-long event featured a variety of professional development workshops, continuing education trainings and networking opportunities for professionals and students seeking industry accreditations and connections with area employers aiming to recruit new talent.

The event covered several topics relating to clean energy, including green building design, mechanical design, 干净的热, network geothermal, green hydrogen fuel cells, 和 Inflation Reduction Act, as well as spotlights on workforce development. 工厂参观, panel discussions, specialized trainings and a keynote speech by US Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) also took place during the symposium.

Hudson Valley’s Malta location, known as HVCC北, features the Training and Education Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing and Alternative and Renewable Technologies building, otherwise known as TEC-SMART, 和 newly constructed STEM Education Center which opened in the spring. The facilities and faculty on site prepare students to gain new skills in STEM, healthcare and energy-related fields though both credit-based education and non-credit workforce training.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) – Capital Region 和 American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) – Northeast Chapter to host the Clean Energy Symposium and showcase new facilities at the HVCC北 campus,” said Hudson Valley President Roger Ramsammy. “Both TEC-SMART 和 newly constructed STEM Education Center offer high technology facilities that help us create new opportunities for students looking to enter in-demand career fields and meet local employers’ needs for a skilled, trained workforce.”
